Dear Thomas,
I get sigsegv in Ubuntu 8.04 (only when terminating running sessions,  
with no substantial impacts on the functionality).
Regarding your point 2, did you follow the setup guidelines offered  
by this wiki article:

?

Please try to reproduce the setup as stated (my video runs  
flawlessly) and we can share fine points.
