Thanks for digging :-) Unfortunately the trick does not work. I've changed the code as you suggested, but simple non-select SQL commands like CREATE DATABASE cause dbd_query() to return NULL. The MySQL docs suggest mysql_errno() as an alternative way to check for a select failure. I've implemented this in cvs revision 1.100. It passes the test suite ok. Could you please test the new version of the driver?
