I am not a lawyer but legally they would be hers, I think, confidentiality notices notwithstanding. But again, I am not a lawyer. Technologically, shouldn't she save them to pass them to someone who can safely inspect them? (Would make a good story on NPR if something were discovered!) Finally, haste makes waste.
