It's an interesting idea. What is the little party/ceremony people have in Germany when they decide to address each other with du instead of the formal Sie? How about celebrating with a beer and then clicking a button on your FBXes that reciprocates 10gigs of storage on each others drives? Repeat with 10 of your "du" friends and you're not even at 10% of a modern hard drive's capacity.
Put a workable frontend on stuff like this and average folks are finally going to flood ISP tech support asking why their _upload_ speed is so damn slow... -Jonathan ----- Original Message ----- > From: Eugen Leitl <[email protected]> > To: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; > [email protected]; Liberation Technologies > <[email protected]> > Cc: > Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2012 2:45 AM > Subject: [Freedombox-discuss] [tahoe-dev] Blog post: Introducing BRIC (Bunch > of Redundant Independent Clouds) > > ----- Forwarded message from Bitcartel Software <[email protected]> > ----- > > From: Bitcartel Software <[email protected]> > Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2012 21:43:03 -0700 > To: [email protected] > Subject: [tahoe-dev] Blog post: Introducing BRIC (Bunch of Redundant > Independent Clouds) > Reply-To: Tahoe-LAFS development <[email protected]> > > Hi, > > I experimented with Tahoe-LAFS to cobble together a cheap (free) cloud > from online storage providers. > > https://bitcartel.wordpress.com/2012/10/21/rbic-redundant-bunch-of-independent-clouds/ > > Lots of room for improvement, so feedback is most welcome. > > Cheers, > Simon > _______________________________________________ > tahoe-dev mailing list > [email protected] > https://tahoe-lafs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tahoe-dev > > ----- End forwarded message ----- > -- > Eugen* Leitl leitl > http://leitl.org > ______________________________________________________________ > ICBM: 48.07100, 11.36820 http://www.ativel.com http://postbiota.org > 8B29F6BE: 099D 78BA 2FD3 B014 B08A 7779 75B0 2443 8B29 F6BE > > _______________________________________________ > Freedombox-discuss mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/freedombox-discuss > -- Unsubscribe, change to digest, or change password at: https://mailman.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/liberationtech
