A while ago, I've moved from Pidgin to Jitsi as an XMPP+OTR platform (I've never really tried the VOIP+ZRTP side of it), because there was talk on this list (mainly by Jacob Appelbaum) about it being more secure than Pidgin.
>From a user's perspective, it has a very clanky GUI (e.g. once in a while it takes over the keyboard and makes your keystrokes disappear into a black hole), but the main thing missing is shared secret OTR authentication (SMP). Lately I've discovered http://www.bitlbee.org/ and I feel a lot more comfy with it. My question is, how secure is Bitlbee compared to Jitsi or Pidgin? Thanks, The Dod
