  For the most part it just seems like suspicion.  Twitter has some of the
weirdest, most interesting bugs of any service I've ever used.  And if
you're working on liberation tech, those bugs can start to seem...
intentional.

  But in breaking it down, it seems far far more likely that something is
wrong on Twitter's end.  If the DM was deleted, and then reappeared, that
says bad things about data retention policies.  But if the DM was never
actually deleted server-side, then that indicates code bugs.  Once patched,
the DMs seem to magically reappear.
