Meanwhile, looking for a local "plan b" solution, I've found an OpenID-provider django project <https://github.com/bearstech/OursID> on github, and turns out they have a working instance at https://openid.bearstech.com Nevertheless, stackexchange looks like a good option to recommend to customers because it's a well known establishment.
