SPEAKER
Nithya Sambasivan - User Experience Researcher at Google
ABSTRACT
The presentation will discuss her research on the use of ICT by
sex-workers in India and also her work on civic innovations at
Google.org.
Nithya Samnasivan graduated with a Ph.D. and Master's in Information
and Computer Sciences from University of California, Irvine and a
Master's in Human Computer Interaction from Georgia Tech., where she
looked at reconceptualizing "the user" in low income communities in
India. She currently works as a user experience researcher with
Google.org.
She has worked in the past with orgnaizations such as Microsoft
Research, Bangalore, Intel and Nokia.
