Hi, the German Federal Office of Justice annually publishes statistics about number of and reasons for wiretapping.
This includes content (Telekommunikationsüberwachung) and metadata (Verkehrsdatenüberwachung) https://www.bundesjustizamt.de/DE/Themen/Buergerdienste/Justizstatistik/Telekommunikation/Telekommunikationsueberwachung.html Just saw that they also publish the number of cases when acoustic surveillance is done indoors https://www.bundesjustizamt.de/DE/Themen/Buergerdienste/Justizstatistik/Wohnraum/Wohnraumueberwachung_node.html Theoretically law enforcement has to tell anyone who's been subjected to (legal) surveillance afterwards but in practise that often doesn't happen.
