I am yet to see any actual research based on Snowden's leaks, as opposed to publicity by association that is based on exclusive access to the leaks. For instance, the quote above shows reckless attitude of Tor's operators towards side-channel attacks, but it also shows an opportunity to locate an NSA software side-channel attack bug aimed at decrypting directory service traffic.
