Hello all. My name is Kambale Musavuli. I am currently working with African techies in the communities affected by the spread of the Ebola virus in West Africa.
We are looking for African and global techies to land their know-how to help in the fight against the deadly virus. We believe bringing technology solutions into regions affected by the Ebola virus will help in empowering local communities in Africa with tools and information and coordinate with other techies in the region or working on the issue so that we don't duplicate the work. We also want to map out what tech tools exist that can be used in Africa to do some of the following: · Real-time Information - GIS mapping of incidences; · mobile-data-collection/mobile-service-delivery; · health information management systems; · high powered website/s to collect high volume of donations and steadily changing information. We host teleconference every TUESDAY at 11am UCT time (7am EDT) to bring everyone together and begin to map out current tech responses in order to more effectively identify gaps where we might help. We have a google group to help techies stay connected, share information, strategies, and lessons learned. If you or any techies whom you think we should reach out to in the region would like to join this effort, please don't hesitate to let me know directly and I can share more information about what African techies are doing and the current needs to save lives on the African continent.
