The Awards are an annual highlight for OGP. They help shine a spotlight on reformers and convince us that difficult open government reforms can be achieved. After two successful rounds of Awards in 2014 and 2015, showcasing different themes related to open government, this year's Award theme is "*Making Transparency Count*". We are asking applicants to show how transparency in government held data or information was made useful for the average citizen in their country. This year we are inviting *civil society organizations* to show how they partnered with governments in initiatives that were made possible as a result of the OGP process and/or commitments made in OGP National Action Plans. We are also interested in youth lead initiatives for our new Youth Award. We want to see greater youth involvement in OGP and hope this award will help us identify future open government champions! Winners will be honored at the OGP Global Summit in Paris <https://ogpsummit.org/osem/conference/ogp-summit>, being held from December 7-9, 2016. The registration deadline is June 27, 2016 and the application deadline is July 27, 2016. Additional information and applications details can be found at the Awards website (www.opengovawards.org). As partners in the OGP process, we invite you to register your initiative and showcase your work to the wider open government community! We'd also like to ask for your help to spread the word to your networks through your social media channels, newsletters, blogs, team updates, etc! For social media, the Awards hashtag is #OGPAwards.
