Libtech folks: This month's San Francisco Techno-Activism Third Monday has two very special guest speakers, who I thought you would all appreciate:
MARIETJE SCHAAKE, one of the leading lights in Internet issues in the European Parliament, and KAJA KALLAS, who as a Parliamentary member for Estonia has been pushing for the EU to eliminate borders in the digital world. She's also the vice chair of the EU-Ukraine co-operation committee. Both will be talking and answering questions on a wide range of digital issues including freedom of speech, internet governance, intermediary liability, net neutrality, and export controls. If you're looking for insight in how Europe's governments are planning to deal with the Internet, digital security, and Silicon Valley, I can't think of two better people to hear it from. TA3M starts at 6PM on Monday July 18th, at EFF's offices in San Francisco. We're at 815 Eddy St, SF, CA 94109; https://eff.org/815eddy .
