Hi everyone,

My name is Rahul Gupta-Iwasaki. I’m a Stanford CS alum and one of the
founders of Raha <https://raha.app>, a social currency which provides a
basic income. Our goal is to create a platform for economic democracy via a
human-focused identity and governance platform and a basic income that
guarantees everyone a baseline level of economic security and
participation.

We recently launched apps on both Android
<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.raha.mobile> and iOS
<https://itunes.apple.com/app/raha/id1434224783?ls=1&mt=8> which people can
use to prove their identity and claim and spend their basic income. The
emphasis is on understandability and usability of the product. We are eager
for feedback - please message me if you’re interested in joining and trying
it out!

More broadly, is anyone in the liberation technology community aware of or
involved in communities that might be interested in implementing a local
basic income? The Raha currency is not currently traded on an exchange and
thus has no market-defined USD equivalent value. However, as every
individual receives the Raha currency at a rate of 10 per week - we believe
that our platform can enable equitable distribution of a baseline quantity
of resources in communities that choose to exchange goods for Raha.

Thank you,
Rahul Gupta-Iwasaki <https://www.linkedin.com/in/rahulgi/>
