Get Ready for World War III

With every poll showing majorities of Americans both
fed up with Bushs war against Iraq and convinced t hat
Bushs invasion of Iraq has made Americans less safe,
the White House moron proposes to start another war by
attacking Iran. VP Cheney has already ordered the US
Strategic Command to come up with plans to strike Iran
with tactical nuclear weapons.
Bush refuses to meet with Cindy Sheehan, instead using
his vacation time at the Crawford ranch to talk war
with Israeli television. In a recent interview with
Israeli TV, Bush said: "All options are on the table"
with regard to Iran.
Israels Likud government is Bushs last remaining
ally in& nbsp;his war against "Islamic terrorism." Israel,
which is loaded with nuclear weapons and is not a
signatory to the nuclear pacts, is the accuser against
Iran, asserting that Irans nuclear energy program is
just a veil behind which to produce weapons. Iran,
however, has signed the nonproliferation pact and is
willing for the International Atomic Energy Agency to
monitor the nuclear energy program.
Bush, however, dismisses all facts and assurances and
is willing to attack Iran based on nothing but
paranoia.
Bush can ignore the American public, because the< BR>Democrats, like the Tory
Party in the UK, have
completely collapsed as an opposition party.
The only check on Bush is the lack of US troops.
Bogged down in the Iraqi quagmire, US commanders are
stating that a third rotation of our exhausted and
demoralized troops in Iraq can be avoided only by
troop withdrawals by next spring.
However, on August 11 Bush nixed the militarys talk
of reducing US troops in Iraq. The next day the
commander of US logistics in Iraq announced that the
number of insurgent attacks on US forces along&nbs p;supply
routes has doubled in the last year, making it clear
that far from winning, the US is not even holding its own.
Cindy Sheehan has the right question for Bush: What
noble cause is being served by all this suffering and
destruction?
Bush is in hiding from Mrs. Sheehan, because he knows
only ignoble causes are being served. According to the
CIA, the main beneficiary of the war is Osama bin
Ladens recruitment drives. While Americas military
recruitment falters and US generals announce that the
war has broken the Reserves and National Guard, the
cause of Islamic extremism basks in the Iraqi war.
Gentle reader, do you realize the danger of having a
president so disconnected from reality that he plots
to attack Iran a country three times the size of
Iraq when he lacks sufficient forces to occupy
Baghdad and to protect the road from Baghdad to the
airport?
Despite all the high profile "sweeps" of US forces
through insurgent strongholds, US commanders report a
doubling of insurgent attacks.
The Bush administration is insane. If the American
people do not decapitate it by demanding Bushs
impeachment, the Bush administration will bring about
Armageddon. This may please some Christian
evangelicals conned by Rapture predictions, but World
War III will please no one else.

The CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) vote is now history,
but history that must guide our actions for the future. There are steps
to be taken to bring Congress back to the Freedom position, we will
list several in this and subsequent alerts.
There were many improprieties in the voting, including but not limited
to, the following:
1. At the end of the official 15-minute voting period, CAFTA was
defeated 180 to 175. The House Republican Leadership was so politically
driven to get what they wanted that they broke the House rules,
extending the vote indefinitely until they had the vote they wished.
The voting closed only after CAFTA "passed" 217 to 215. For details see

2. Charles Taylor, Republican from a textile district in North
Carolina, is reported to have stated on talk radio that he voted NO,
but someone changed his vote.
3. "The last-minute negotiations for Republican votes resembled the
wheeling and dealing on a car lot." stated The Washington Post. The
cost of the "deals" which paid for yes votes has been estimated at over
50 billion dollars! Bribing our "Representatives" with our tax dollars
to achieve the Beltway Insiders agenda hardly seems to be an
appropriate way for our "Representatives" to conduct legislative
business. Rather than representing a specific district or state to the
Legislature of the United States, many in Congress seem to be the
representative of the Beltway Insiders to their home state or district.

So what can we do about this massive sellout of United States interests
in favor of the agenda of special interest groups? There are several
courses of action, which will help Congress be more accountable to
their constituents:
1. Find out how your Senators and Representative voted on CAFTA.
Remember how they voted, for we will hold them accountable for their
vote.

your effectiveness by telling them often when they do right. The
special interests exert tremendous pressure on Congress. We need to
build a base of support for those that consistently vote the Freedom
position.
3. If your Senators or Representative voted for CAFTA, write a letter
to the editor of your area papers calling for their recall by name
individually. If there is no recall law in your state, write a letter
to the editor asking your state Senator or Representative to sponsor a
recall bill. Mention your Senator or Representative by name and his
CAFTA vote as the reason a recall law is needed. Letters don't have to
be long, short letters are more apt to be printed.

Making "PATRIOT" Permanent

Renewal of the so-called PATRIOT Act for 10 years
effectively means that U.S. citizens will "hav e their
constitutional rights put on hold for a decade," wrote
Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas).
If the PATRIOT Act is constitutional and badly
needed, why were sunset provisions included at all? If
its unconstitutional and pernicious, why not abolish
it immediately? All of this nonsense about sunsets and
reauthorizations merely distracts us from the real
issue, which is personal liberty. America was not
founded on a promise of security; it was founded on a
promise of personal liberty to pursue happiness.
As luck or something else would have it, the& nbsp;vote took
place immediately after the recent round of subway and
bus bombings in London, a terror rampage that prompted
many of the acts defenders to assert that critics of
the act would be morally liable were such atrocities
to be committed here. This refrain was both
predictable and utterly absurd, points out Rep. Paul.
Lets remember that London is the most heavily
monitored city in the world, with surveillance cameras
recording virtually all public activity in the city
center, noted the congressman. British police are
not hampered by our 4th Amendment nor our numerous due
process requirements. In other words, they can act
without any constitutional restrictions, just as
supporters of the PATRIOT Act want our own police to
act. Despite this they were not able to prevent the
bombings, proving that even a wholesale surveillance
society cannot be made safe against determined
terrorists.... The London bombings dont prove the
need for the PATRIOT Act they prove the folly of it.
Former deputy assistant Attorney General John C. Yoo,
one of the chief architects of the PATRIOT Act,
explained ;in a February 24, 2004 interview with the
California Patriot that the Bush administrations
homeland security doctrine is based on the idea that
no artificial line could be drawn between foreign and
domestic threats. The primary achievement of the
PATRIOT Act, Yoo continued, was taking down the
artificial line.
As Yoo put it in a separate interview, the executive
branch is now using the legal tools of wartime in
dealing with matters of domestic security. In essence,
this approach permits the president and his minions to
make war on the American public in the name of
protecting us.
Yoo has described himself as a person who subscribes
to the view espousing limited government in areas
aside from foreign affairs and security. (Emphasis
added.) Under this formula there are no limits on
government intervention as long it is conducted in the
name of security.

President and our Congress.

the transformation of all the military bases of the United States from use by
national armed forces to the exclusive use by international forces of the U.N.

In this latest base closing, they use the word : Redevelopment to minimize
the economic consequences. The real truth about the base closing is in the
third phase of the above booklet to finish the process that JFK started back in
the 60's.
These dastardly deeds must be stopped at all costs!

Cindy Sheehans vigil outside in Crawford, Texas has clearly struck a nerve in
this country, and her willingness to speak truth to power resonates as a model
of courage and dedication to us all.

London Police Accused of Resisting Probe
The police oversight group investigating the shooting death of a Brazilian man
mistaken for a bomber last month accused London police Thursday of resisting an
independent investigation into his death.
The sharp comments came after lawyers for Jean Charles de Menezes' family met
the watchdog group, demanding answers amid allegations of a police cover-up.
John Wadham, chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Commission, said
"the Metropolitan Police initially resisted us taking on the investigation but
we overcame that."
Menezes, 27, was shot seven times in the head on July 22 by police who had
tailed him to the station the day after four bombs were carried onto London's
transit system but failed to detonate fully. The attacks came two weeks after
four suicide bombers killed 52 commuters on the London Underground and a bus.
Pressure on police has been growing after news reports, citing leaked documents
and closed-circuit TV footage, called into question initial reports about what
happened.
Lawyers for the Brazilian man's family also accused authorities of trying to
intervene and delay the investigation into how Menezes had become a victim of
the shoot-to-kill policy.
"This has been a chaotic mess," said lawyer Gareth Peirce, one of the attorneys
representing the Menezes family.
"One of the things we asked the (police commission) to investigate is: Are
there lies that have been told? Who told them?" Peirce said.
In the heightened state of anxiety following the failed attacks, witnesses
reported that Menezes, who they claimed was dressed and acting suspiciously,
jumped over station ticket barriers before bolting from armed officers toward a
train.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair told journalists on July 22, the
day of the shooting, that Menezes failed to obey police instructions and
officers said "his clothing and his behavior at the station added to (police)
suspicions."
While Blair initially insisted Menezes was linked to the terror investigation,
it soon become clear that he had no connection to the failed attacks and police
expressed their deep regret at the shooting.
A leaked report into Menezes' death that was made by public by Britain's ITV
television on Tuesday also suggested the initial police statements about what
happened that day were inaccurate.
Menezes was followed by officers for more than a half-hour before the shooting
and no attempts were made to stop him, according to ITV. The surveillance
officer who called in reports about Menezes described him as wearing a denim
jacket and carrying nothing, but suggested he was "worth someone else having a
look."
The Brazilian calmly entered the Stockwell tube station, paused to pick up a
free newspaper and used his travel card to pass through the barriers, the
closed-circuit footage showed.
After descending the escalator and running to catch his train, Menezes took a
seat on the subway train and was pointed out to armed police by one of at least
three surveillance officers who had been followed him.
The surveillance officer says he then "heard shouting which included the word
'police,'" ITV reported. Menezes stood up and walked toward the surveillance
officer, who tackled Menezes and pushed him back into the seat, then "I heard a
gunshot very close to my ear and was dragged away on to the floor," the officer
said.
The Daily Mirror, citing unidentified police officials, reported Thursday that
the officer leading the operation, Commander Cressida Dick, had ordered Menezes
to be detained before he got on the train and to be taken alive. Police refused
to comment on the reports.
Peirce claimed that authorities tried to intervene and delay the investigation
into the shooting but said it wasn't clear if the police commissioner or Home
Secretary Charles Clarke were to blame.
"We have asked for a fast investigation on behalf of the family," Peirce told
reporters on Thursday.
The Home Office refused to comment.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Blair wrote to the head of the
independent investigation group on the day of the shooting while police still
believed Menezes was a suspected bomber. Blair wanted "to clarify the role of
the IPCC ... this was because it was crucial that the terrorist investigation
took precedence over any IPCC investigation at that time."
The IPCC said that by the evening of July 22, it officially had announced that
it would take over the investigation into Menezes' death.
This dispute has caused delay in us taking over the investigation but we have
worked hard to recover the lost ground," the commission's chairman said.
Commission representatives couldn't be reached for further comment.

Scotland yard came under renewed pressure last night as doubts grew over its
account of the killing of an innocent man mistaken for a suicide bomber.
Details have emerged which undermine the forces claims that officers had no
alternative but to shoot Jean Charles de Menezes.
The revelations are a blow to the Metropolitan Police, which is expected to pay
more than 500,000 compensation to his family.
In the aftermath of the shooting, it was claimed that Mr de Menezes, a
Brazilian, vaulted over a ticket barrier and sprinted down the escalators to
escape police. The 27-tear-old electrician was also said to have refused to
surrender and to have been wearing a bulky winter coat.
But it has now emerged that:
Mr de Menezes used an Oyster travel card to go through the ticket barriers.
Initially, at least, he walked to the platform.
It is believed the officers did not properly identify themselves before opening
fire.
he was not wearing a heavy jacket.
It has also emerged that CCTV footage of the shooting, which could have been
vital to an inquiry, will not be available because most of the security cameras
at Stockwell Tube station, South London, were not working.
This will come as a severe disappointment to Mr Menezess family, who had hoped
that security footage would prove officers had no reason to open fire. It is
also likely to fuel claims that the public were misled over the events leading
up to Mr Menezess death.
In the aftermath of the July 7 and 21 attacks in London, Police seized
thousands of CCTV tapes from the capitals Underground and rail system. The
CCTV blunder at Stockwell means investigators will now have to rely on witness
testimonies and the accounts of police officers.
Mr de Menezes was shot eight times - seven times in the head - on July 22.
Three plain clothes officers followed Mr de Menezes after he came out of a
block of flats in Tulse Hill, South London, where police believed one of the
failed July 21 bombers Lived. They tailed him for several miles before he
arrived at Stockwell Tube station.
It is understood that the officers were given strict instructions that the
suspect should not be allowed to get on the Underground.
When he got on a train, Mr de Menezes, who had no connection to terrorism but
may well have been afraid of having to answer questions about his immigration
status, was pinned down and shot. The senior officer in charge on the day of
the shooting, Commander Cressida Dick will face questions about the decisions
made in the run-up to the incident.
It is understood that once the officers went underground, they lost radio
contact with Scotland Yard and the decision to open fire had to be taken by the
pursuers. The First Commander Dick knew of the shooting was a terse radio
message which said: Man down.
The Independent Police Complains Commission is investigating Mr de Menezess
death. Sources close to the case say the operation which led to the shooting
was hampered by communication problems and misunderstandings between
undercover police, marksmen and senior officers.
The commission is assessing whether rules for dealing with suspected suicide
bombers were complied with, and whether Mr de Menezes was killed lawfully. An
inquest will also be held into the death, which has raised widespread concerns
about the polices shoot to kill policy. Insiders say the case shows
guidelines for tackling suspected suicide bombers, code named Operation Kratos,
are unworkable.
Kratos is based on the theory that shooting a bomber in the head is the only
way to ensure his device is not detonated.
Senior police officers have described Mr de Menezes death as a tragedy but
say they have no option but to continue with the policy.
Last night, it emerged that the officer who killed Mr de Menezes is due to
return to work in the next week after being sent on a free holiday by his
force. The unidentified marksman will not be on frontline duties pending the
outcome of the commissions investigation.
Two weeks ago, a senior Metropolitan Police officer flew to Brazil to offer
compensation to Mr de Menezess parents.
John Yates, a deputy assistant commissioner at Scotland Yard is thought to have
agreed to make an initial payment - running into thousands of pounds. The offer
was ex-gratia, meaning it will not affect the final amount paid. Some legal
experts believe the force could end up paying up to 570,000 in damages.
a London Underground spokesman last night refused to discuss the CCTV blunders
at Stockwell, saying he was unable to comment on individual stations for
security reasons.

The innocent Brazilian killed by police after being mistaken for a suicide
bomber was shot by two officers, the Mail on Sunday can reveal.
It was originally thought only one marksman was involved in the death of
27-year-old Jean Charles de Menezes.
But it has now emerged that the seven bullets to his head and one in the
shoulder were fired by two guns.
last night a source close to the case confirmed: There were, in fact, two
policemen who fired the fatal shots.
The tragedy happened on July 22 after Mr de Menezes, an electrician left a
block of flats at Tulse Hill, South London, where police believed one of the
failed Tube and bus bombers from the previous day had been living. Three plain
clothes officers tailed Mr de Menezes for several miles before he arrived at
Stockwell Tube station. As he got to a train Mr de Menezes was pinned down and
shot from close range.
Why was CCTV at Tube not working properly?
In a separate development it was claimed yesterday that CCTV footage of the
shooting, vital to the enquiry into his death, will not be available because
most of the cameras at the station were not working.
Tube Lines, the company responsible for the maintenance of CCTV on the
Underground ,denied the allegation, saying its cameras at Stockwell were
working on July 22.
The police have already stated that 24 hours before Mr de Menezes was shot,
three of the four bombings suspects had assembled at the station at 12.25pm,
suggesting they had confirmation of that fact from security cameras.
Last night both Scotland Yard and London Underground refused to comment on
whether cameras had been used to identify the suspects. And the Independent
Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) which is investigating Mr de Menezess
death, said only: We have all the evidence that is available.
But Harriet Wistrich, the lawyer representing Mr de Menezess family told the
Mail on Sunday: It beggars belief that there was no CCTV at Stockwell Tube
station at a time when London is on a high security alert. Ever since 7/7 every
station should have been fitted with CCTV cameras and they should have been
working properly. It begs the question whether we are being given a true and
accurate picture of the evidence available.
The two officers who shot Mr de Menezes - from the Yards elite firearms unit,
SO19 - face possible prosecution for murder or manslaughter when the
investigation is complete. The IPCCs report, which will take months to
compile, will be sent to the Crown prosecution Service. The CPS will decide if
the officers should be taken to court. An inquest will also be held.
The day after the shooting it was claimed that Mr de Menezes vaulted over a
