In 1912 the candidate for POTUS of the Progressive Party received more
popular and electoral votes than the incumbant POTUS, the incumbant
POTUS and Rebuplican nominee received only 8 electoral votes in 1912.
In 1924 the Progressive Party candidated won the state of Wisconsin
and received all 13 of Wisconsin's electoral votes.
In 1948 the candidate of the State's Rights Party won in the states of
Al, LA, MS, and SC and received all the electoral votes in those
states and a few from other states in which he did not win the popular
vote.
In 1960 Harry Byrd who was an Independent received all 6 electoral
votes in MS having won MS and a few more in other states that he lost
the popular vote in.
In 1968 the candidate of the American Independent Party won the
popular vote and all the electoral votes in the states of AL, AR, GA,
LA, MS and more electoral votes from states he lost in.
In 1972 the Libertarian Party candidate received 1 electoral vote.
In 1992 Ross Perot won 0 state ans 0 electeral votes but received 19%
of the popular vote nationwide.
