Group: New Orleans Gun Seizures Illegal

Following low-key inquiries that were met with stony silence and
official indifference, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear
Arms (CCRKBA) today is calling for a federal investigation into reports of
gun seizures from law-abiding New Orleans residents, and is demanding that
officials there immediately account for all confiscated firearms.
CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb is also demanding that New Orleans
police officials immediately stop the seizures, disclose where those
firearms are being kept, how they are secured, the type and number of
firearms involved, and how those guns will be promptly returned to their
rightful owners, in the condition in which they were originally taken.
"I also want to know under just what authority New Orleans
officials are confiscating lawfully-owned firearms from law-abiding
citizens," Gottlieb said. "Where does it say that the state and federal
Constitution can be nullified, even briefly, simply because of a hurricane?
In every other natural disaster this country has ever faced, people retain
their civil rights, including the right of self-defense, but New Orleans and
Louisiana state officials have added the sin of arrogance to incompetence
and negligence for which they must be held accountable when this is over."
Gun rights activists have been outraged by a film clip showing a
police officer tackling an elderly woman who was armed, in her own home, and
later removing her from the premises.
"We know this is only one incident that is being replayed
incessantly, and that not all the circumstances are known," said CCRKBA
Executive Director Joe Waldron, "but this incident, combined with statements
by local officials, particularly Police Superintendent P. Edwin Compass III,
that nobody but police will be allowed to have guns, demands a full and
complete explanation to the American public. Visiting police and National
Guardsmen are in New Orleans to help hurricane victims, and the nation is
grateful beyond words. You don't help people by violating their civil rights
or the public trust."
"There are reports that residents who refuse to leave are being
disarmed, anyway," Gottlieb added, "leaving them to the mercy of any
lingering looters and thugs. If true, it is unconscionable. In the anarchy
that reigned in the city for days, these armed citizens provided the only
protection for their families, businesses and neighborhoods when many police
walked off their jobs, and a few even participated in the looting, and the
world knows it. The people responsible for making that decision should be
immediately disciplined and relieved of command. Visiting officers from
other jurisdictions involved in these confiscations should be immediately
sent home.

It's a must-read, of course, and it's important to connect the
dots in the way the Times has. That having been said, it's the smaller, more
anecdotal stories of outrage that are likely to linger longer in the minds
of most Americans.
We reported on one last week: the one about all those
firefighters FEMA requested from around the country and then assigned -- for
day after day after day -- to an Atlanta hotel while people were dying in
New Orleans. Today, Carlos Guerra brings us another.
In his column in the San Antonio Express-News, Guerra says that
Mexico responded to Katrina by sending 195 people trained in disaster
medicine. They arrived Thursday with 47 vehicles, three huge field kitchens
and portable emergency water treatment equipment -- enough to provide clean
water and three meals a day for 7,000 people for 20 days. And the federal
government has assigned them to . . . San Antonio, Texas.
Guerra tried to find out why. As he points out, San Antonio has
plenty of perfectly potable water, and the evacuees who have arrived in the
city have been provided hot meals from the start. Why not send the Mexican
specialists to a place without clean water, a place where their services
might actually be needed? "Good question," a FEMA press officer told Guerra
before referring him to the State Department. A State Department spokesman
referred Guerra to a State Department press briefing at which another State
Department spokesman said questions about the Mexican workers should be
directed to any of several other government agencies, including FEMA. "Left
Hand, let me introduce you to Right Hand," Guerra writes. "You should talk
before you embarrass us even more

just been appointed by Bush as the acting new head of FEMA.
President George W. Bush on Monday named David Paulison, a top
official in the Homeland Security Department, to replace Michael Brown on an
acting basis as head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
This is the same David Paulison who gave us the infamous "duct
tape" scare a little over two years ago.
Americans have apparently heeded the U.S. government's advice to
prepare for terror attacks, emptying hardware store shelves of duct tape.
On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after U.S. Fire Administrator
David Paulison described a list of useful items, stores in the greater
Washington, D.C. area reported a surge in sales of plastic sheeting, duct
tape, and other emergency items.
Great. So we've gone from Brownie (aka Drownie) to Duckie.
Is it impossible for Bush to appoint anyone competent to head
any agency?

60 2nd Trimester preborn babies via abortion. This is an average of 360 1st
Trimester and 240 2nd Trimester preborn babies killed by abortion annually.
Babies as young as 20 weeks preborn have survived outside the womb and are
living quite well today, so these are viable babies that are being butchered by
Magee.
Every 2nd Sunday of the even-numbered months, there is a prolife picket outside
Magee Women's Hospital, 1:00 - 3:00 PM. So the next scheduled demonstration is

An interfaith service will be held Thursday to pray for more than 300 fetuses
whose remains were found in a McKeesport garage once owned by a suspended
funeral director who had a contract with Magee-Womens Hospital.
The idea came from Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, whose office
received many calls from women distraught that their child's remains may have
been abandoned in the garage, said the Rev. Donald Green, executive director of
Christian Associates of Southwestern Pennsylvania, an organizer of the service.
The remains, ranging in age from less than four months gestation to full term,
resulted from miscarriages, abortions and stillbirths.
"Our prime concern was to help those who had wounds opened to bring closure,
and also to deal with the fetuses in a dignified way," Green said.
The service will be at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of St. Paul Seminary in
Oakwood. Prayers will be offered by representatives of the Catholic, Protestant
and Jewish traditions. Green said he was still trying to enlist a Muslim.
The participating traditions have a variety of understandings of fetal life,
and take differing stands on the legality of abortion. Great care has been
taken to make the service pastoral, not political, Green said.
Some traditions have no official stance on the status of a miscarried child,
and the response can vary from pastor to pastor even within the same
denomination, he said.
Green, who belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, said that his
denomination's book of "occasional services" has prayers for when a child dies
before birth, but not a full liturgy. But unofficial liturgies circulate
informally, he said.
Noting that he was speaking only for himself, he said what he would offer
liturgically would depend on the length of the pregnancy.
"The closer to birth, the more likely I would be to move toward more of a
traditional burial, whether that was with a casket or cremains," he said.
Two Catholic priests said they had occasionally done burials for fetuses that
died in relatively early miscarriages.
The Rev. Frank Almade, pastor of St. John Vianney parish in Allentown, recalled
burying a fetus in a casket no longer than a cigar box, after obtaining
permission from the cemetery to inter the child with its grandmother.
"It was very important to the father. His wife couldn't come because she was
still in the hospital," Almade said.
The Rev. Samuel Esposito, pastor of Good Samaritan parish in Ambridge, has done
similar burials. Prior to Vatican II, he said, miscarried fetuses were supposed
to be baptized.
Now, "we don't anoint or baptize if the person is deceased," he said. After a
miscarriage, "it's prayers of comfort, and commending their soul to God's
mercy."
The Catholic Church has officially approved prayers for such occasions, said
Esposito, a former hospital chaplain. In most cases, he noted, those who have
suffered a miscarriage don't ask for a burial, because they are too distraught
to think of it, they don't know one is possible or they don't want one.
According to Jewish law, a child who dies fewer than 30 days after birth is not
entitled to the official Jewish funeral rites. Nevertheless, rabbis in all
traditions offer alternative rituals.
Rabbi Alvin Berkun of Tree of Life, a conservative synagogue in Squirrel Hill,
is a principal organizer and participant in Thursday's service.
His own Conservative movement has a formal liturgy with readings from the
Bible, prayers and blessings.
"If someone talks to me, as a clergyperson, about a miscarriage, it indicates
that they should seek some help [from their religious tradition]. They need a
kind of closure, if you will. This is a real trauma, a real grief," he said.
In Orthodox Judaism, burial is required, said Rabbi Yisroel Miller of Poale
Zedeck Congregation in Squirrel Hill. If the fetus is male, a circumcision is
performed if possible, he said.
Although it's not the same ritual used for an older infant or adult, "our
tradition is that child had a soul, that child is in heaven. And at what the
prophets call the 'end of days,' that child will be there to meet his or her
family," Miller said.

dialing a phone and asking for help, whilst still living in loud,
crowded conditions and what sounded like utter chaos in the
background. Many survivors are still in the Astrodome. Some have
been separated from their families and are living in different
shelters. Others are in hospitals or held up in airports not knowing
what tomorrow will bring. What I ascertained, is that there are
still hundreds, if not thousands, who are still seeking host
families who will take them into their homes until they can
financially become reestablished.
I volunteer as an intake coordinator for transportation.
Consequently, one of the questions I have to ask of the evacuees is,
how many bags of luggage or belongings they will be transporting
with them. Essentially, they have nothing.....nothing at all!
Despite only having the clothes on their backs, and maybe a bag or
two, each and every one of them were all so courteous and thankful
for my time and for anything the Katrina Caravan could do for them.
I could hear their fears of the unknown, but more importantly, I
could hear how many have faith in God, and how God's love was
protecting and embracing them.
Regretfully, many of them recounted stories of being turned away by
the Red Cross and FEMA. The numerous complaints I heard today
about the Red Cross were all consistent. The tales of the untenable
encounters the survivors were having with these two organizations
was quite frankly, more then I had wanted to hear. It appeared that
if they were fortunate enough to even get through to FEMA or the
Red Cross people, they were given the run around and eventually
either denied the help they needed, or not given any confirmation
if, or when, help would be given to them. With regard to all the
millions of dollars I have heard the Red Cross recently collected,
I was disappointed when hearing from the survivors that their
immediate and urgent needs were not being acknowledged. None of the
people who survived Katrina were asking for much. After two weeks of
being herded around like cattle, they were focused on obtaining
help to connect with their lost families, transportation,
prescription medications, and the minimum assistance required for
them to have a place to reside while seeking new employment and the
opportunity of rebuilding a home.
I might add, how I was also surprised when I had received four calls
while on my shift, from the American Red Cross asking for Katrina
Caravan, (a volunteer group of citizens organized for the survivors
of Katrina needing rides to other states, and who have been given
none of the financial resources available to them that the Red Cross
has been given) to provide local rides to the people at the
Astrodome, to such places as the DMV in Houston. I could not help
but to wonder why the Red Cross wasn't using some of the millions of
dollars donated to them to have shuttles already available to the
people at the Astrodome who are in need of local rides.
On a more personal note...last year when Hurricane Charley hit Port
Charlotte, Florida, I had decided to rent a 17 foot u-haul truck and
fill it with goods and drive into the devastated and less populated
areas. Before I had departed into the areas of devastation, I was
warned that my safety might be in jeopardy because the people in
their desperation might become rowdy and storm the truck all at
once. I decided to ignore the warnings and instead allow God to
decide my fate when on my Hurricane Charley mission. The areas I
encountered in Arcadia, Wachula and Zolpho Springs, Florida were
indeed devastated from the hurricane. Hundreds were homeless, but
not in the high numbers like the people left homeless from Katrina.
I had come across people standing in front of their splintered
homes, picking up clothing that was literally strewn all over the
land. What I saw and heard from the survivors of Hurricane Charley
was similar to what I heard today from those who survived the
Katrina hurricane. Despite the shock, they were all kind, humble,
grateful, and very patient. Most of all, they were as equally
worried over their fellow neighbors, as they were of their own plight.
I will be volunteering three days a week from here on in. I must
convey that hearing the stories of the survivors is very heart
wrenching, however, I could not think about wanting to be doing
anything else with my life right now other then trying to help
these people. They are in such desperate need of help from fellow
citizens.
The phones ring off the hook the entire time I am on call. The need
is still great in the areas that were hit by Katrina. By writing
this email to you, I am hoping that you will consider volunteering
your time in some way to the citizens who were harmed by Katrina,
and will remember to tell others how much their prayers are still

Analysis "eBay looks less fearsome when you're upside down," says the
young CEO behind the online auction house's great Chinese rival Jack
Ma. To encourage new hires at his Alibaba.com, Ma asks them to
perform handstands. Maybe that won't be necessary for much longer, as
eBay is a lot less fearsome - and a lot poorer - after splurging
$2.6bn on Skype (and $4bn in total if Skype hits the numbers).
Couldn't eBay have done something more sensible with $4 billion -
like give the money back to its shareholders - or to the Katrina
relief fund?
Skype is the poster child of VoIP, and has very nearly become a
household name with 50 million users world wide. There are more than
twice as many registered Skype users than there are iPod owners. But
the negatives are long. Skype has yet to turn a dime's worth of
profit. Nor, in the standards-based world of SIP calls, does its
proprietary connectivity offer any 'secret sauce'. AOL, Microsoft,
Yahoo! and Google have all integrated SIP calls into their instant
messenging clients. Verizon and AOL offers a monthly plan.
Compared to Vonage, Skype's connections to the traditional POTS
network are notoriously lousy, and its billing systems are held
together with string: a patchwork operation that relies on eBay's own
PayPal. So all Skype can offer is its brand and its user base -
shades of AOL all over again.
Not to mention that the incumbent operators have taken note of the
VoIP threat. In the US, you can snap up a long-distance calling plan
that's better value than a VoIP + DSL deal: which is good enough for
most people.

However it's eBay's initial explanation of how it intends to use
Skype that will give even VoIP's most passionate advocates the
willies. eBay hopes to monetize the user based by selling their
account details to junk callers, at $2 to $12 per lead. Whether Skype
users even get the chance to opt-out from this new form of "voice
spam" remains to be seen, but eBay's Whitman could have chosen a
better example of 'synergy'.
As we've seen with the internet, with its junk email, blog comment
spam, and machine generated pages stuffing the search engines and
diluting the search results - anything left open and untended simply
becomes the next technological arms race. Closed networks rarely have
this problem. Now eBay is handing the beleagured incumbents a
marketing gift.
The global telcos can also relax for another reason. Had Skype
continued its success, they may have been tempted to pool their
resources and 'do an Orbitz'. Orbitz was the online ticketing venture
started by five US airlines and designed to counter the threat of
Expedia and smaller upstarts, and protect their Sabre database. Now
they don't have to.
Skype's potential as a money earner for eBay depends on the average
computer user's appetite for regulation - and the example of recent
years augurs poorly. When Congress passed its first anti-spam bill,
the well-funded right-wing think tanks chorused that it wouldn't
work. More red-tape, they snarled. These naysayers aren't so sure now
that spammers are being arrested, and those who abet them facing real
jail time. Spam hasn't gone away, and the internet still needs
infrastructure-level fixes to combat the problem effectively, but
it's a measure of how the libertarian rhetoric of the 1990s has
cooled.
An even better example is the success of the Do Not Call Registry,
administered by the FTC. The registry has made tens of millions of
American households more peaceful, and accepted its 100 millionth
number three weeks ago.
If eBay wants to go down in history as the company which made spam
talk, it's paid a lot of money for the privilege. ®

He Who Benefits From A Crime Most Likely Committed It

Hello all...
Thousands of years ago the Roman philosopher Seneca observed that:
'He has committed the crime who profits by it.' Or, as I have said in my
books, 'He who benefits from a crime is the one most likely to have
committed it.' This is not always the case, but as a theme it is right on.
Now, clearly, a crime of breathtaking magnitude has been committed in New
Orleans and those southern states struck by Hurricane Katrina, a great storm
that transformed from a category 1 to category 5 as it headed for land fall
on the Louisiana coast. I detailed the wealth of weather control technology
available to the Elite in the last newsletter and even when the hurricane
failed to destroy New Orleans by itself the levees conveniently broke and
flooded the city to virtual oblivion. A famous city from the 'developed',
'civilised', world was turned within hours into a nightmare of flooded,
polluted, disease-ridden streets, dead people in their thousands (far more
than they will officially admit to), mob rule, rape, and
he-with-the-muscle-takes-the-food.
It is a sobering reminder of just how tenuous our 'civilisation'
really is and how staggeringly quickly it can descend into the animalistic
demands of survival. I have written in my books of a great civilisation in
the ancient world with advanced knowledge of science and esoteric law that
built vast cities. It was a society on a global scale at one point. People
say that if such a place existed we would find evidence of it, so it can't
be true.
But wait. Some of its calling cards are still with us in the form of
extraordinary edifices of stone around the world in places like Peru, Egypt,
and elsewhere. The rest of it has disappeared, yes, but why would it not
have done so given the recent experience of New Orleans? Our 'modern'
society is considered 'advanced' technologically, if certainly not
spiritually, but this 'great society' that we hear praised by the day is in
fact hanging by three tiny threads: oil, electricity and clean water. Take
clean water away and we're all dead within a short time through dehydration
or disease; take away electricity and there is no light or warmth. Take away
oil and there is no transport except on foot, bicycle or animal-drawn cart
and there would be no animals without uncontaminated water. Together they
would also mean no more food, except that which can be produced locally
using traditional methods and crops, now disappearing under the onslaught of
genetically-modified varieties demanding chemicals that would not be
available when catastrophe struck. Within hours of New Orleans being without
drinking water, oil or electricity 'western civilisation' was history. For
it had lost the pillars, threads in truth, upon which it depends. Perhaps we
can see more clearly from this experience how an ancient global society
struck by geological catastrophes and some massive wall of water - the
'Great Flood' - would have been obliterated. What would be left of New
Orleans a few thousand years from now if it is was just abandoned to the
elements? BLACK GENOCIDE Anyway, back to the theme: He who most benefits
from a crime is the one most likely to have committed it. My own feeling
having read the reports all week is that Hurricane Katrina was whipped up
into the incredible storm it became using the weather control technology
detailed in last week's newsletter and that it was steered to its target,
New Orleans. When, as was first reported, the storm gave the city a massive
battering, but it survived, the levees were broken to do the rest. Apart
from those who understand the Illuminati techniques, who was going to
suspect foul play with the levees when the hurricane was a ready-made
villain?
This gave them so many gifts in their Orwellian agenda for global
control. Firstly, the main victims were the poor, mostly poor blacks who
could not evacuate. Black people to the Illuminati bloodlines are little
more than vermin - 'useless eaters' as they call the masses - and they want
to depopulate them on a massive scale. This is the real reason for the
implanted AIDS epidemic in Africa which is killing millions of black people
across that continent, not least in South Africa, and threatens a
depopulation of staggering proportions in the years ahead.
Many will say that the idea of a genocide of black people is far
fetched, but here is the 'race-purity' agenda in the Illuminati's own words.
In September 2000 the Illuminati's neocon front, The Project for the New
American Century, set out a blueprint for the incoming Bush administration
to follow. The people behind the report, including Cheney, Rumsfeld,
Wolfowitz, and so on, became the controlling cabal behind boy Bush and they
have been following their report to the letter - including the invasion of
Iraq. And in that same report they say the U.S. should consider the 'use of
biological weapons and that "new" methods of attack - electronic,
'non-lethal', biological - will be more widely available ... combat likely
will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the
world of microbes... advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target'
specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror
to a politically useful tool'.
Note the language: "specific genotypes" - the biological targeting
of specific races and black people are the main, though not the only,
target. That is what we are dealing with here within this bigger picture of
the Orwellian fascist state - cold, calculated genocide. For this to happen
in the you have to demonise black people. This is always the methodology of
the sick minds who target races for destruction. They are using the 'war on
terrorism' to turn other races against the Arab peoples, just as they used
propaganda to turn Germans against Jews. Now we are seeing the same with
blacks in America - they're portrayed as the bad guys while the whites in
the same circumstances are the victims. Here are two news reports to give
you a blatant example of what I mean. Blacks 'loot' food while whites 'find' it.
The key weapon of the tyrant is always divide and rule of the people
and it is so important that neither whites turn against blacks or the other
way round. Let us not kid ourselves that there are not black racists as
there are white and both need to understand that they are being encouraged
by the same force - the one that wants the races in conflict to divide and
rule. The following is as relevant today as when it was first spoken. It
always will be: 'In Germany, first they came for the communists and I did
not speak out because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the Jews and I did not speak out because I was
not a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics and I did not speak out because I
was a Protestant.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for
me.'

We need to speak out for ALL victims of injustice, no matter what
their creed, colour, or income bracket. If we protect justice for all to
enjoy then it will be there when we need it, too. Otherwise the sequence of
picking us off group by group will leave us in the same situation as
Niemoller. The Muslims, blacks, poor whites, middle classes, on and on they
intend to go, but it can be stopped if we, no matter what our colour, creed,
belief or background, stand up for justice for ALL. We don't have to like
people or agree with them to stand up for their freedom. Their freedom is
our freedom, lest we forget, or, as Noam Chomsky put it:
'If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise,
we don't believe in it at all.'
The chaos that has followed Katrina has been a blueprint for the
marshall law and military state that the Illuminati wish to impose in the
wake of further engineered 'terror' and weather/geological events. As I have
been saying for years, they use the technique of first creating the chaos
and then offering the 'order' out of the chaos. This 'order' means reshaping
society in their Orwellian image. The Illuminati are getting desperate
because they know that vast numbers of people continue to wake up and see
what they couldn't see before and they are seeking to impose their Orwellian
global state as fast as possible to suppress the awakening with control,
surveillence and, most importantly to them, human microchipping. This means
that they are planning to throw everything they can at the human mind and
emotions in terror attacks and 'natural' disasters. We must stay strong and
not succumb to such pressure to submit.
