The issue of secession is difficult. First, what does it really mean and is it really necessary? Perhaps, something short of secession is possible as in an autonomous region. What about the rights of minorities in these areas? (I remember reading about the Black Panther Party in the late 1960s once advocated that the states of the American Deep South--Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Arkansas, North and South Carolina--be set aside as a separate Black nation since America was hopelessly racist.) The matter of the Anglos living in that area was raised. The response was they would have to leave and forfeit their property because they were, by definition, racists. Of course, it went nowhere, but the issue of minority rights arises in such matters. Greg
