Delay was the Republican leader and thus one would expect him to help
a member of the Republican caucus. That is part of what a party leader
is suppose to do. I don't know if DeLay is guilty of violating any
laws. I do think that when it comes to campaign finance laws pols will
claim to be for it and vote for it and then look for ways to
circumvent the new laws. I believe that if one wants to be foolish and
donate a million dollars to a politician they should be legally
allowed to do so. I will say anything in defense of DeLay because I
don't know if he violated the law or not. I will not assume he is
guilty of what he has been accused of either.
