If you have a square. Would you define the middle of that square as the outer fringes, or the edges of that square the outer fringes?
Imagine a square if you will that represents the libertarian movement. (The Quadrant of the New Political Spectrum that represents libertarians - upper right-hand corner, Northeast if you will). In the middle of that square you have Mainstream libertarians; folks like David Dreier, Chris Cox, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura, John Stossell, PJ O'Rourke, Judge Napolitano from Fox News, Neal Boortz, Larry Elder et.al. On the far upper end you have folks like Ron Paul, Michael Badnarik, David Bergland, Ernie Hancock, Jeff Rigenbach, Thomas Knapp, L. Neil Smith, Carol Moore, et.al. It'd be idiotic to describe the folks in the middle of that square as "being on the fringe."
