In such a society, successful people are allowed to become hideously rich, while the poor and weak are left to die on the streets.
Bush is a Social Darwinist. His tax cuts, and social security privatisation plans illustrate this. He claims to be a Christian, but he is a cold, hard businessman, with an eye for ever increasing profits, whatever the cost. He needs to be stopped. In the UK, things are not so bad, but our welfare state is always under attack from the Tories, who have Social Darwinism instincts themselves. Maggie Thatcher started the assault in 1979, and it continues under John Major and Tony Blair, who should have halted it, and renationalised services privatised under Thatcher. The Left must unite to fight this worrying trend that has materalised over the past 2 decades. Individually, the enemy is much stronger than we are; but united, we can, and will, defeat them.
