Andre Marrou said it was easy to get elected...you just have to knock on more doors, spend more money, and be where your opponents are not. You can bet that the republican and the democrat are on the phone calling everybody they know, and everybody those people know, and people nobody knows, to extract as much money as possible. One of them will win. The Libertarian (and the Green) candidate will send out a couple of news releases, and respond to some candidate forums, and hope that the voters get the message. Guess what? Your average voter doesn't even know there is an election coming up until a couple weeks before it happens. He (or she) isn't interested in reading the League of Women Voters guide (if they even know where to get one). Their time is valuable to them. Why would they waste their vote on somebody that can't even get a thirty second commercial on their favorite radio station? Not to mock "educational" campaigns. I've done them. I had fun, but I wasn't delusional enough to think that I might win. I had one issue, and played it fairly well. But it was pure Libertarian, straight out of the LP Platform. PEACE Steven R.
