In some cultures, "humanness", and respect for one's rights, does not begin until one can begin to speak the local language.
In some, it's not until the reach the age of 7, or 13 or 14. But, whenever one is fully vested in human rights, what does that mean within the context? If the zygote, foetus, baby has full rights, and the mother, on which it is physically dependent, also has full rights, what does that imply? Does it imply that all have the right to physical support by anyone and everyone else? Does it imply that one has the right to physical support of a parent? Or are all rights-bearing individuals responsible for their own support, while allowing for voluntary charity? Perhaps the foetus has a right to support his own life, while the mother has the right to choose whether or not to support that foetus's life. This is an even more interesting question as the point of "viability" is pushed earlier and earlier by advances in science and technology...
