Friends & Foes, Last Saturday Night I appeared on Harry Browne's national radio show discussing the War in Iraq. It was a good debate, and I was happy to be a guest. Prior to the Show I found Mr. Browne to be quite a gracious Host. I have since learned that Mr. Browne takes a position in opposition to American involvement in World War II. Many have emailed me to inform me that Mr. Browne was opposed to the United States going to War against Hitler and the Nazi Regime. What an insult to those brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who died at Iwo Jim, in the Pacific and on the shores of Normandy. Mr. Browne should be ashamed. I found his view to be absolutely repulsive and wish to disassociate myself from it in every way imaginable. The libertarian movement has a tough enough time being associated as a loony tunes Lyndon Larouchie/Louis Farahkan type group without having the mantle of "Pro-Nazi" also being thrust upon it makes matters worse. Even more, as many of you may remember, David Duke, a real live Nazi, called himself a "libertarian" a few years back on a number of radio and magazine interviews. To have a position posited by a leader of the libertarian movement like Mr. Browne which conjures up images of the libertarian movement being associated with modern day Nazis is not at all positive. Not too mention that Nazi who ran on the Libertarian Party ticket in Delaware a few years back for Governor and ran television commercials in the Philadelphia market with him in front of a Swastika with the tag line; Vote Libertarian. I urged my supporters previously to listen to Mr. Browne's show. I now urge them to boycott it. I would urge Mr. Browne to hereby refrain from calling himself a libertarian. With views like that, he is an utter embarrassment to our movement. Eric Dondero
