With the atomic bomb and the appropriate delivery vehicles, Hitler would have won the war. I must remind everyone that the U.S. built over 18,400 B 24s. These American bombers did the difficult task of bombing during the day time and hit those factories where Hitler was trying to build the atomic bombs and many of the places where Hitler was building his war machine. Image those factories producing weapons without that bombing. Mr. Browne's view is built on a rose colored view of WWII with little basis in reality. David Hughes<< I must agree with David here. The basis of Libertarianism and libertarian philosophy is the non initiation of force and the non-credible-threatening of force. Hitler and the axis powers represented a very credible threat of force to the people of the US and the attack at Pearl Harbor by the axis powers represented an initiation of force. I do however think that more attention should have paid to selective retaliation against Hitler, Hirohito, Musilini et al. Assasination is a valid retaliation tool in this context and would have saved many lives on both sides. By engaging in such a massive initiation of force the Axis leaders left them selves eligible for retaliation in this manner. BWS ------------------------ Yahoo!
