Everyone,

If I had to put my finger on THE most defining moment in modern mid-eastern
history, it would be the 1953 CIA/British overthrow of an Iranian prime
minister, and his replacement by our puppet ... the Shah of Iran.

Prime Minister:

The constitutional monarchy that existed during the 1951-1953 period was
SECULAR ... and, resembled the current government of Great Britain. If not
for covert CIA/British actions, Iran today would undoubtedly be a stable,
secular, constitutional monarchy. This subversion of Iranian secular
democracy was performed for the benefit of the British oil company, the
Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, and that was later renamed British Petroleum.
This travesty was the handiwork of Winston Churchill and agents inside the
Eisenhower Administration.

Kermit Roosevelt, grandson of President Teddy Roosevelt, was chief of the
covert-operation in Iran.

Mastermind of Operation Ajax:

The 1953 coup destroyed democracy in Iran, and basically pushed the Iranian
nation towards Islamic fanaticism. The US response to the Iranian overthrow
of the Shah was to support Sadaam Hussein of Iraq as a means to strike back
at the Iranians. American support of Sadaam in the Iran/Iraq War further
radicalized the Islamic clerics. It can be easily argued this "one two"
punch by the Establishment is what caused modern, radicalized Islam to
become dominant in Iran.

Harry Truman absolutely resisted Winston Churchill's appeals to subvert
democracy in Iran . to his credit. The incoming Eisenhower Admin gave a
green light to Operation Ajax, and the rest is history.

Respectfully,

Guy McLendon
