They are not being ALLOWED to commit harm to themselves, as if it was by
the indulgence of one class of people that another enjoys the exercise of
their inherent natural rights. Self-harm violates nobody's rights. The
only legitimate function of the government is to secure the rights of the
people.

That does not mean a person has no legitimate options when others are
harming themselves. They just have to rely on nonviolent options.
