"(K)eep your religious beliefs out of anything remotely related to government or paid for by government"? Are you unaware of how many tax payers are also professing Christians? Are you also unaware that, those who are people of faith, ANY Faith, consider their faith to be a vital aspect of who and what they are and, therefore, of how they want a government of, by and for The People to function? Christians, and the concepts of public life that they value, have as much a place in decisions regarding public policy as people of any other Faith and people of no faith.
The problem isn't Faith or religion or Christians. The problem, or at least part of it, is that for many decades now Christians have been mislead by the Republican Party into believing that the Party truly values and represents them. As a result they've been duped into playing the game of attempting to use government to enforce specifics regarding the personal lives of The People. They've been used by the Republicans to continue increasing the size and reach of government. Instead of seeking to demonstrate to others why their values may be worth embracing, they've been conned into trying to coerce others into submitting to their values. Now that Christians are starting to realize that Republicans have been using them they're seeking other avenues of equal representation in our government. It's a great opportunity to increase the numbers of the Libertarian Party, which will enable us to more quickly empower The People to return to self-government, while also educating a large demographic of a better way to pursue their hopes for this Nation's future. I'm out here actively trying to convince people to consider investigating a "third party". If Christians joined this group in an effort to gain a more thorough understanding of the Libertarian Party's positions and read comments like that they may be more likely to take my advice but look into the Constitution Party. That Party was formed by Christians "disenfranchised" from the Republican Party and all we can expect from them is more of what we've endured from the Republican abuse of the Christian right. It's my understanding that the Libertarian Party exists to downsize DC and return the power of government to The People where it belongs. Secular Libertarians shouldn't disregard Christians with misguided assumptions of their desires and motives.
