Libertarians (like Harry Browne) support a non-protectionist flat 3% tariff on all imported goods which would not hamper anyone's ability to compete in the market and would be fair. I guess that way you wouldn't have tariff schedules. Or if we want to write 3% in different languages, I suppose it would be in the language of the nation in which the goods are originating.
