I believe that it is very possible that if there were a good chance
of Weld getting the Republican nomination he would not have saught
the NYLP nomination. I believe it is possible that Weld might be the
lesser of 3 bad candidates in this election. This situation would be
like the LP nominating Reagan for POTUS in '76. Reagan ran in '76
and came close to getting the Republican nomination but lost it to
Ford. I will be surprised if Weld gets the GOP nomination.
