Excellent question. I can only speak for myself.
The point is mute, depending on the Libertarian Party. If the LP Nominates a Celebrity candidate, to paraphrase Jeff Spigoli: "I'm there Dude." In other words, I'll enthusiastically support the Libertarian Party in 2008 if they nominate: Jesse Ventura, Gary Johnson, William Weld, Larry Elder, Neal Boortz, Drew Carey, Dennis Miller, John Stossell or someone else of that stature. Hell, I'll even support the LP in 2008 if they nominate a semi- celebrity candidate like: Don Gorman, Ed Thompson, Judge Gray of CA, Bob Prechter, Mark Skousen, Art Olivier, Leon Drolet, Vic Korhing, et.al. (I most enthusiastically support Thompson, since he's got a good schtick being an ex-Boxer, Tavern Owner, and Mayor of a Small Town in Middle America). If the Libertarian Party nominates a 3rd Tier candidate with No Name I.D. or No Credibility as a former or current elected official, like: Michael Badnarik, George Phillies, Carol Moore or Dave Hollist. Well then, I'll most certainly be voting Republican, no matter who the Nominee is, and I'm sure I'll be joined by a great many other libertarians. My hope on the GOP side is for Guiliani. I also like Mitt Romney and George Allen. Though Allen lacks pizzaz. I'm into pizzaz. A Presidential candidate absolutely MUST have some sort of schtick for me to support them. So, Guiliani is my favorite. Urgh!! I'm hoping McCain doesn't get it, nor boring-ass Frist. But if they do, and the LP nominates another Michael Badnarik-like schmuck I'll still hold my nose and vote GOP. SO PLEASE LIBERTARIAN PARTY, SAVE ME AND OTHERS FROM HAVING TO VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN. NOMINATE A CELEBRITY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --- In [email protected], "steven linnabary" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Eric Dondero Rittberg" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Saturday, June 17, 2006 11:48 AM > Subject: [Libertarian] Hmmn, no response on the "Anarcho- Republicans" in > MT?? > > > Wonder why Steven Linnaberry and Paul Ireland have been silent about > my post reporting what I regard as an advocate of Anarcho- libertarianism who > was elected to the Phillipsburg, Montana City Council as a Republican Party > candidate? > > Guess it doesn't quite fit their paradigm. > > An Ayn Randist/Escapist/Anarchist-leaning libertarian advocate running and > getting elected on the Republican ticket??? > > Will wonders ever cease??? > > ***** > Eric- > > You must have missed my post on this subject a couple of days ago.
