CN: They may consider themselves to be defenders - whether of faith or country
or whatever, but placing bombs in cars and targetting innocent civilians is
an attack and worthy of being called terrorism. They are attempting to
influence events by inspiring terror in a populace.

SL: IOW, we deliver ordnance that causes some collateral damage while they
bomb
innocent civilians. Hmmm. Can you explain the difference?

CN: The answer was in the bottom line of what I posted. Since I never
purported there to be a difference, it would be hard for me to explain one.
CN: As for whether or not we are getting "accurate answers" is entirely a
separate issue and irrelevant to the labels that can be used to describe
certain activities. If we are deliberately (and in the minds of many,
unintentionally) attacking civilians then it is murder, pure and simple.

SL: Your "accurate answers" is merely a matter of perspective.
CN: I never made the claim that the answers we get from the media are
accurate. That was John Stroebels argument. My opinion is that even if the
answers we get are not accurate or are lacking significantly in information, we
can still continue to discuss the war beyond that problem. As for perspective,
we either get the full and truthful account, or we don't, but I agree that some
people make it a point to be more informed than others.
I think there is a problem with this sort of email forum. For one, Yahoo
groups doesn’t facilitate a flow of conversation, and it seems like people have
difficulty following the what little flow there is. It seems Terry ought to
encourage some sort of forum for longer conversations. I find this sort of
argument difficult when I’m accused of saying something that was posted by
someone else entirely.
