I ride every day - 110 miles roundtrip on my commute. The motorcycle does save
me some money, but not a whole lot more than the car. A motorcycle requries
more frequent maintenance and the parts generally cost more than they would for
a car. The motorcycle will not last as long as a car - few bikes can go beyond
100k miles in all, though a BMW can go upwards of 300k. The safety gear is not
cheap. If you spend any time doing business while driving, it cannot be done on
the motorcycle - you may save a couple of dollars in gas, but the loss of
productive time could be far more.
Finally, if you are getting a motorcycle just to save money, I'd recommend
getting a hybrid instead. Riding a motorcycle in commute traffic requires a
level of awareness and experience that few drivers ever exhibit, especially in
the early morning hours. Plus, you'll still need that car for winter-time
driving in colder or rainier climates.

,, if you don't beleive me add up your fuel bill for the week and if you
are a working person like me (that would mean that you actually create
something tangibal during your work time as opposed to taking advantage
of those that do) then you will come to find that you could be spending
alot less and sending a message to those that strive to control us if
you just found a cycle and ride. Ride to live LIVE TO RIDE!!! It has
never been more true than it is today. My name is Paul and that is
my opinion, like it or not.
