Well it is improper to make a general statment that they should or
should not be responsible, that is something for juries and the
courts to decide on a case by case base. Stockholders should neither
be off the hook or held responsible either, nor should regular
employees, in some cases in fact the average employee may know far
more about the misdeeds than a far removed stock owner or even the
board of directors or CEO. Take for example a corporation which is
making a dangerous product that is released on to third party
victims who is more liable a Mutual Fund owner where the Fund has 1%
of its assets in the wayward manufactring corporation or an assembvly
line worker who knows the corporation is making a dangerous product
and that it is released on third parties but does not care because he
is making a nice wage for helping make that dangerous product? Say
the employee is one of 10,000 employees that know, say their annual
wage is 50,000 a year and they have worked there an average of 10
years when the corporations was making the product, say their average
net assets are 200,000 dollars each, all which they gainned directly
or indirectly through helping the corporation make the product, while
the mutual fund owner only owns 10 dollars worth of the wayward
corporation through the mutual fund and has owned it for less than 3
months.--- In [email protected], <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
