Y'all, Listening to "Internet talk radio" is hard for me -- being on dialup, it's difficult to get a stream of reasonable quality, and it takes a long time to download an mp3/podcast file. So, I usually don't do it.
However, I just downloaded and listened to the first part (18.4 MB) of Radio Free Liberty's interview earlier this week with L. Neil Smith, and I can tell you that you don't want to miss it. I'm downloading the second part (30Mb) right now and have listened to the partial download ... it just keeps getting better. In the first part, host Cato Craft gives Neil the floor and lets him tell the story of how he became a libertarian. Most of Neil's friends and fans have had the story in pieces here and there over the years, but it's nice to hear it all in one sitting (and it raises some interesting questions, including: Given how most of us have become libertarians ourselves, why is it that we think others will magically become libertarians in some _other_ way?). In the second part, Neil talks about his next book, and about another new, non-book, project. I consider him a pretty close friend, but this interview is the first I've heard of either, and they're both very exciting. No spoilers here -- if you want to know, you have to listen.
