Latest polls have Joe Lieberman losing the Democrat Primary for Senate
Reelection to the Leftist/Green guy, by 4 points.

This sets the stage for his Independent run. Polls are showing him
slaughtering the Dem and even worse the hapless Republican in the General
Election.

So, it now looks like Joe Lieberman will win Reelection under the Independent
ticket.

This sets the stage for a super interesting Senate make-up. Imagine if the
Repubs lose 2 seats and Lieberman becomes the swing vote for Senate control.
Will he vote for Harry Reid to be Senate Majority Leader? Vote for Frist? Or
Abstain?

More likely, Repubs lost a seat or two, but not enough to put the Senate
Majority in jeopardy. Then Lieberman will be forced to decide going with the
Republicans. If he votes for Frist, he'll get a cushy Committee Appointment.
He gains nothing by siding with Harry Reid, since the Repubs will control the
Senate regardless.

My bet is that he goes with Frist, making him part of the "Republican Caucus"
and a "Defacto Republican."

Poor Dems, they just shot themselves in the foot.
