Indeed James, What Eric fails to grasp, is that in such a situation, he would be wiser to engage in a voter boycott, encouraging all to refuse to engage in ballot-boxing. Telling people to stay away, is a far more libertarian policy than telling them to vote for some lesser of two evils.
It may be that, for him, he is so addicted to politicoholism, or Acton's Disease, if you will, that no alternative is possible. Libertarianism's strategy is more than just getting someone elected; it has a goal of a free society, and for this, a cultural change is required. Without this, no third-party politics will be relevant. I would suggest that those "supper club" and educational activities that Eric denigrates are far more important than going hat in hand, upon bent knee to some political institution, saying, in effect, "please sir, may I play in your sand-box.
