Hey James, this is the very hottest political race in the country.
You can't turn on a television news show, turn on talk radio, log
onto a blog, or do anything at all in politics without someone
talking about Lamont/Lieberman.

Let's skip the issues and philosophical debates for a second.

>From a strictly political standpoint, do you think it's a good move
for libertarians to stay completely out of this race?

Perhaps you're one of those Libertarian Party members who also
believes that running an LP Presidential candidate is a "waste of
time".

Now, if you're a strictly philosophical Libertarian, I give you a
pass here. But if you are a Libertarian Party advocate, YOU MUST by
definition be active in politics, and avoiding the Lieberman/Lamont
race, is inherently hypocritical.

******

I can only speak for myself, but arguing over some races can be a bit
pointless. It sort of reminds me of my college days when PoliSci students
would argue into the wee hours the differences and perceived benefits of
Trotskyism versus Leninism. My eyes would start to glaze over.

Here in Ohio, we have a US Senate race that I simply cannot vote in. Faux
republican Mike DeWine running against democrat Sherrod Brown. Yech.
Simply no choice. I will gladly waste my vote on ANY write-in that decides
to run.

And I don't consider myself to be merely a "philosophical" Libertarian,
either. I think I am almost as much a political animal as you. I have been
quoted as saying that politics is better than sex. But some races just
leave no choice worth the reputation you might get from who you jump into
bed with.
