There is absolutely NO connection between Blackwell and Libertarians. The
left is simply desperate to confuse voters into thinking that libertarians
are extreme nut case right wingers. It has happened before. And to a
certain extent, it has worked.

And Blackwell has been notorious in attempting to paint his democrat
opponent, Ted Strickland as an anti-family, pro-gay rights homosexual
(really), even though Strickland is a married Methodist minister!

Every independent group, from the ACLU to the John Birch Society, gives
Strickland a much higher "freedom" rating than it gives Blackwell.

There MAY be a libertarian group or two that has rented the Blackwell
campaign a mailing list (Reason, CATO, etc.). This would be the ONLY
libertarian-Blackwell connection.

But with the exception of his stance on guns, he is clearly statist on every
issue. EVERY issue. From gay rights to the right to vote to ballot access
to higher taxes (he even wants to ban hotels from providing a pay-for-porn
channels), he is clearly just a Taliban-republican-statist. But I repeat
myself.

Sure, but what does that have to do with Ken Blackwell and his ties
to libertarians?

I have no doubt that Koch & Co. is behind Blackwell's campaign, and
that he has close ties to Cato, probably Club for Growth, and other
libertarian groups.

The Leftists are right in their assertions about the "Kochtupus" and
its influence on right-wing Republican politics.

The point is, how is it that some Libertarians view people like
Blackwell as a "statis" or worse, when he has such close ties to
libertarians?
