Prostitution is not legal in San Francisco nor in any of the surrounding Bay
Area communities. Prostitutes are arrested daily and prosecuted, fined and
even imprisoned. Noone can run a brothel or escort service or massage parlor
and expect to be left alone by the police forever. They may not be top
priority, but they must live in constant fear of arrest and possible
violence.

Ask anyone with an arrest record for engaging in peaceful yet illegal
activities or business transaction whether "quasi-legal" is anything like
"legal."

I don't know if Starchild, the Libertarian Pary of San Franciscos outreach
director subscribes to this list, but he has quite a story about his run-in
with the bay area community of Fremont over some "quasi-legal" business
transactions.
