We've had a busy week since the primary, in that "no rest for the weary" kind of way. We <http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/media-press/news_releases/06_0912.php> challenged our Republican and Democratic opponents to a series of debates, and got an enthusiastic acceptance from the Democrat. From the Republican - total silence (cue the cricket sounds).
Today, we announced that I've <http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/media-press/news_releases/06_0919_Cacci oppoli_endorsement.php> earned the endorsement of one of the Democratic primary candidates, who declared that, "while the Democratic Party is important to me, ethics and character are more important. A vote for David is a vote for those principles." I also launched a new <http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/media-press/endorsements.php> page on the Web site, filled with endorsements from people who actually know me - and who don't expect any earmarks after the election. Now that we're into the general election, the calendar is starting to fill up with public and joint appearances. If either of the other candidates will show up at even a fraction of these events, we might actually have an opportunity to help the voters make a wise and informed decision on 7th November 2006. I'm in Phoenix on Thursday night for a veterans' convention and in Prescott Friday-Sunday for the Yavapai County Fair. We continue to fill the Web site <http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/index.php> with discussions of important issues, and my weekly <http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/media-press/op-ed/default.php> op-ed columns get good pick-up around the country. I think it's worth comparing the breadth and depth of the content on my site to the other two candidates' sites (here <http://www.ellensimonforcongress.com/> and here <http://www.rickrenzi.com/> ). Blogging since the primary described: * The Democrat accepting my debate challenge http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=117 o Still waiting on the Republican incumbent http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/media-press/news_releases/06_0919_Caccio ppoli_endorsement.php * Ethics failures at Interior http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=118 * The incumbent's questionable intelligence http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=119 * Why I started wearing bow ties http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=120 * Why someone would pay $500 for ice cream http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=121 * The pathetic remnants of lobbying and ethics reform http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=122 * The Constitutional Convention http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=123 * More free speech nuttiness in Kansas http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=124 * The contortions of the news media when confronting a candidate that doesn't fit the narrative http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=125 * How much Facebook loves me http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=126 o Current stats: Renzi, 40.4% - Schlosser, 32.7% - Simon, 26.9% o This helps make up for the local university's research, which shows me in single digits, though with both other candidates well below 50% and nearly 25% of voters undecided . it's a long slog as a third-party candidate, but worth it to give voters a real choice. * The endorsement by my former opponent http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=127 * Why we should never let Hungarians see our political news http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=128 * Things to keep you awake at night http://www.schlosserforcongress.com/blog/blog.php?blog_id=129 Your help is the only way I've been able to be as active and successful as I've been. Reminders of easy things you can do to keep helping: * Take the issue identification survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=947042343520, and send it to all your friends. * Use the "comments" feature of the blogs and news sites to direct people to my Web site. * Send an endorsement for my Web site.
