I've purposely allowed my membership to expire. I will never give another dollar to the LP or to any LP campaign until the platform is restored, the LP website has THE WAR IN IRAQ IS 100% UNCONSTITUTIONAL on it's front page, and we take steps to make sure those in the party support the non-aggression principle and are not closet Republicans like we have in leadership positions and who want to win elections at all costs, including tossing our principles out the window.
Growth at the expense of our principles makes us no different than the major parties. ------------------------------ The philosophy of libertarianism actually is a set of beliefs. Among those beliefs is that we own ourselves, and others have no claim to us or the fruits of our labor. Election day is in less than a month. The only thing that can help me now is money and volunteers. ------------------------------ Aaron Star has told our director he could not help me with a fund raiser on his own time when he was not at work even though he wanted to. He has said that his job as a state chair and the jobs of those on the executive committee are not to represent the LP membership. He says that he is a CEO and his job is to grow the party, and the job of the other members of the executive committee is to carry out HIS vision. Having served on the Ex-Comm it became very clear that if it wasn't HIS idea, it got no funding or support. When I was arrested for handing out pamphlets at the post office on tax day (as thousands of other libertarians have done before me), he tried to silence the story and wrote his own article entitled "whiners or winners" where he accused activists who stand up for civil rights of being "whiners" who accomplish nothing. That is news to me, Martin Luther King, Susan B. Anthony, Mohandus Ghandi, Abbie Hoffman, Peter McWilliams, Rosa Parks, Cesar Chavez, etc. I was told that the Libertarian Party NEWSletter was actually a "magazine" and was not intended to be news for party members, but rather an outreach tool for propaganda. I was told that when some position was blocked or passed that libertarians agreed with, we were to take credit for it, and the "magazine" was essentially to be cheerleading for the party instead of letting LP members know about real issues that effect them. ------------------------------ The simple truth is liberty will NEVER EVER EVER be achieved by voting for Democrats or Republicans and in some cases, it will not be increased by voting for LP candidates like Art Tuma, Bruce Cohen, Brian Holtz, Pam Brown, Art Olivier, or others who support larger, costlier, and more intrusive government and unconstitutional social programs.
