here i am, surfing the web, listening to the news on the radio...you...the
usual....and i happen apon a website, which i thought had something interesting
to say...turns out it is a pro-christian, anti-muslim, immigrant hating website.
so i read this article below, and i think to myself; "do they miss the "f"
ing point?
the point is, people here, and destroyed a whole nation, an now claim
"thanksgiving" is a wholesome christian holiday.
are these folk so friggin stupid that they think we have more of a right to
be on US soil than immigrants, when we infact are immigrants ourselves and we
should learn from the very people we squashed, conquered, murdered and enslaved?
i cant stand fundamentalists !!!
Take a lesson from Native Americans
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/letters.asp
---------------------------------
Were Native Americans guilty of intolerance toward Europeans? Why didn't
Native Americans fully embrace the arriving Europeans and their different
traditions, customs and lifestyles? Were they racist not to do so? Should they
have made accommodations for the arriving foreigners? Were they guilty of
racial profiling when they made judgments about someone because of their white
skin, their cowboy hat or the fact they were traveling in a covered wagon?
Those seem like rather odd questions, don't they? Then why are so many
criticizing those today who seek to protect the American traditions, customs
and lifestyle? America has been enriched by its immigrant population that came
seeking the American dream and who became part of the great melting pot that
formed this nation. But today, in addition to immigrants seeking that same
American dream, we are faced with many immigrants who have no desire to develop
allegiance to America or to meld into our way of life. Many
insist that accommodations be made and rules changed so that they can continue
their daily lives in their native customs and language. So how should we
react to demands for accommodations to pray during airline flights, the ability
to wear burkas in high security areas, for official documents in foreign
languages, or special rules of any type? The Native Americans did not do
enough to protect their homeland, their traditions, customs and way of life. We
seem to be following their lead and appear headed for a similar destiny. For
those who cherish American traditions and the freedoms that have become our way
of life, it is time we fire up that old melting pot again as part of our
immigration policy and for those who can't stand the heat, then please get
out of our kitchen. Steve Gabbard
