DC, OOH, I agree. OTOH, all the detainees and victims and fatalities of the Iraq War are but a drop in the bucket compared to drug war victims over the last 40+ years. Drug War prisoners are regularly incarcerated for lesser real crimes, on lesser proof, for no less time, and regularly tortured no less. But drug terrorism has become so commonplace in our nightmare society that even the prisoners themselves support it.
I totally agree that the Iraq war is unjustified, and I will go on about it as much as the next guy. But no expression of outrage against it is proportionally accurate when it comes to the horror which has been happening right under our own noses to our own people on our own soil for generations. -Mark +++++++++++++++++++ Let us not forget that the *U.S.* government also sponsors 'reasonable' forms of torture as a means of gathering information, not to mention locking people up indefinitely without any recourse for release. Would you say the laws are religiously motivated by Christians? Would you say that governments often sponsor terrorism? If so, why not acknowledge that America is thoroughly infested with Christian terrorism? -Mark ++++++++++++++ I don't put lighting up a cigarette which might be liable to what a $50 fine? in the same category of blowing away cops and child molestation. Both of the latter just happened here in Houston - an illegal alien with a massive criminal record from Mexico raped a 7 year old, another one killed a cop for a routine trafic stop. I'm talking Crimes with Victims here, not Victimless Crimes.
