At least if we were fighting terrorists on our own soil, we'd have a 
chance of winning.  We'd have a reason to be fighting them.  We would 
then understand why they are fighting us now (in their own country) 
the way they are.  We have military bases in most of the countries in 
the world.  I venture to say that there is in each of those counries, 
some level of resistance to our implied threat of destruction to 
those countries.
