Dear Editor,

I can not believe that there are still some people who still support the
immoral and unjust occupation of Iraq by the United States and still believe
the lies that were told to get us to invade it. The invasion of Iraq was based
on 3 great big lies two which were given as reason to invade the third as more
as a reason to stay.

Also I can not believe that so many people compare this war to WWII saying
things like what would have happened if we had given up against the Japanese
and the Nazi's. Well for one thing in WWII on Dec. 7 we were attacked by
Japan and Japan's allies Germany and Italy Declared war on us a few days
later. On Sept. 11 we were attacked by Al-Quada not by Iraq nor was Iraq an
Allie of Al-Quada nor did it declare war on us. The United States invasion of
Iraq would be like if the U. S, attacked a neutral country in WW II.

The first great big lie was that Saddam Hussein was developing WMDs or even
that he had them. Yes he did have them in the past before up to 1991 but not
after and he was not developing any new one especially not nuclear ones.
Supporters like to use that some old artillery shells were found that had
traces of chemical residue in them and that these shells could be used as
chemical weapons as proof that he did possessed such weapons but these shells
were from before 1991 and were found scattered around in the desert not
cleverly and neatly hidden away as some people like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity
or Bill O'Rielly would like to have us believe.

The Second one is that Saddam Hussein was responsible or at least in some way
involved in the 9/11 attacks, I fact Hussein and Al-Quada hated each other.
There were no Iraqis among the hijackers, there were 15 Saudi and I think the
others were either Egyptian, Pakistani, maybe Yemeni but no Iraqi, even if
there were that would not mean that Iraq was involved just as the fact that 15
of the Hijackers were Saudis does not mean that Saudi Arabia was involved.

The Third big lie is that we went into Iraq to bring Democracy and Freedom,
that is nothing but a bunch of BS!. In the first place Bush and his associates
Cheney, and Rumsfeld do not even want real democracy in America. They only put
something that at least looks like a democracy to make them look good to the
outside world, Bush and his cronies do not care if Iraq is a Democracy or not,
only that it is controlled by American Business interests like Haliburton and
Bechtel. If Bush is so for spreading Democracy why then does he not spread
it or countries like or say Egypt or Pakistan or Saudi Arabia? How about we
spread democracy to Uzbekistan whose ruler isl om Karim is believed to be even
more brutal and ruthless then Saddam Hussein. Why only invade weak countries
like Iraq how about we invade China and free the people there. Why don't we
Liberate Tibet too.

We have lost over 3,000 lives to bring democracy to Iraq. Those are 3,000 lives
that have been wasted! Not one live of one American is Worth just to bring
Democracy to another country especially one in which the people of that country
did not even fight for it themselves. All those blue fingers which every time I
see discusses me, was not worth one drop of American Blood.

People who support this immoral occupation keep saying that "We have to fight
them over there so that we don't have to fight them over here" but, there logic
is so irrational in the first place they were not over there if, by over there
means
Iraq. Most of the insurgents in Iraq are not Al-Quada who only make up about
roughly 5%-10% of the insurgents. People say that we can not leave because
the violence will get worse. HOW? Our presence there is only exacerbating the
situation. Further more 70%-80% of Iraqis want us out and about the same amount
support attacks against Americans so, why should we stay where we are
not wanted or welcomed?

Now here is what I think we should do in Iraq First we announce that we will
star
reducing our troops in Iraq. This reduction though would be conditioned that
the insurgents stop their attacks against our troops and that the sectarian
violence also ceases also, the different factions must agree to negotiations
and to start to work together in forming a unified, if possible government,
however, if that is not possible then the consideration of breaking up Iraq
into separate Nations based on Ethnicity and Sect should be considered.
If there is no attacks or any type of violence for a period of 3 months then
we should reduce our troops to 25,000 in 12 months with only 2,500 in Baghdad
some 10,000 in the Kurdish area and the rest "redeployed to the borders areas,
then after another 6 months reduced our troops down to only 2,500 with only
around 250 men in the capital some 1,000 in Kurdistan and the rest around the
Border, then after another 3 months just 250 troops which would include the
Marines that guard the American Embassy.

As we pull out , American and Western troops should be replaced temporarily
by troops
from Islamic Nations Such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan
and also
by Iraqi troops. We should bring the National Guard troops home to the United
States of
America but, redeploy our elite forces, U. S. Marines, Army Rangers, Green
Berets, Airborne and Mountain troops to Afghanistan to find, fight and destroy
the Taliban and Al-Quada there and we should also go in to Pakistan if we have
to. We should naturally of course notify the Pakistan government before we go
in so as to be sure that there is no
misunderstanding, we would not want American and Pakistani soldiers shooting
at each
other but, we should limit whom we tell to the President of Pakistan and
others we can
trust because there are many in Pakistan who support the Taliban and Al-Quada.

We should make it clear that there will be no permanent U. S. military bases
in any Muslim country and that we will not have no more then 250 men in any
Muslim country
except in emergency situations and only with the consent of the government
and people of that country. We should make it clear that we will NOT use
military force against another
nation unless that nation attacks us, is about to attack or attack another
democratic
country or is about to attack another democratic country, or if that country
give aid and
support to terrorists or is itself engaged in terrorist activities, or to
restore a democratically
elected government or to prevent acts of genocide or other crime against
humanity or to
  protect American lives.

There should be a formal apology by our Government to the Iraqi people and we
should
give them compensation for all the damage that we've done since we invade. We
should
declare that no non Iraqi company can benefit or profit from the
"Reconstruction" of Iraq and that the resources (oil) of Iraq belong to Iraq
and it's people and only Iraq and it's people can
profit from the explorations, development and distribution of that resource
(oil) without the
specific consent of the people of Iraq.

All countries make mistakes even great one, the difference is that great
nations admit their
mistakes correct them and make sure not to do them again. When great nations
do
something wrong they hold the people responsible to account. George Bush,
Richard Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are responsible for the Death of many people
because of
this insane and immoral war, Saddam Hussein was executed for his crime Bush
should
at least get life in prison for his. Let us show that we are a great nation
and a great people
let us get out of Iraq and also Impeach and indict Bush and Cheney for their
crimes. Thank
  you.

                                                                Sincerely
                                                                 Michael S.
