This is the LPNC's plan for a trip to DC this weekend. I'm wondering
if other DC-area states are going to be at the rally. If so, we should
make plans to 'hook up' (so-to-speak).

Hi, fellow NC Libertarians!

I'm emailing folks I think are or *might be* interested in going to DC
this Saturday (27th) to protest the war. If you know someone else who
might be interested, let him and me know so we can get connected. If
you're NOT interested (or can't make it), sorry to bother you :)

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I NEED YOU TO REPLY ASAP. THANKS!

[Please note this is a project that many Libertarians are involved in,
but is *not* an 'official function' of the LPNC. I am writing this as
an activist-organizer, not as Outreach Director.]

There's a big antiwar rally in DC. Naturally the rally will have a
large leftist contingent, so it's *extra* important, I think, that
free market folks get out to show some support for ending the warS.
I'm *so* there, and hope all of you and more will find the time to be
there too!

Here's the plan so far - subject to some revision:

The rally starts at 11ish, then there is a march at 1pm. We will plan
to be at the Pentagon rail stop at 10:30, and we'll train into the
city from there. That means we should probably leave around 5:30am.
Yeah, it's a bit early, but on the bright side we should be able to
get home at a decent hour - by 10 or 11pm. And then we have all Sunday
to recuperate!

Bev Wilcox has pledged the use of her van, which will be sufficient
for up to (I believe) 7 people. I hope/plan to have more than that, so
unless someone wants to volunteer a van, I think we're going to be
renting another van. We'll probably have (at least) one van leaving
from the Raleigh/Durham area, and another from Reidsville, and both
(or 3!!! if we get lots of folks) vans will meet somewhere in northern
NC on 85 for a coffee break; at that point we'll travel together.
Bring your window chalk so we can decorate the vans! The trip itself
will be a great opportunity to get some good conversation and
idea-sharing going with fellow Libertarians from around the state. I
promise NOT to sing! Well, I promise not to sing loud, anyway.

I think the easiest way to handle transport costs is for everyone
going to pay a flat $25 fee, which should cover gas for both vans and
rental for 1 or 2 extra vans. Then your only other costs would be food
and subway fare (and bail. haha. just kidding!) If the costs exceed
$25/person, we can settle up equitably later, but I can't imagine that
would happen. If, on the other hand, there is an excess (which I
predict), we can either spend it on dinner on the way home (or
otherwise re-divvy it among the donors) or contribute it to the ballot
access fund. In order to rent the van(s) ASAP, it would really help me
to have the money up front. So please consider Paypal-ing me the money
- go to https://www.paypal.com/ and send the money to
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]' - you don't have to have a Paypal account (you can
use a credit card). I will also take 'day of' payments, but it will
make it harder on me :-/ ... plus once you've paid, we both know
you're committed to coming along! :)

IF YOU CAN'T make the rally, but want to help support fellow
Libertarians, please consider contributing some money. Your
contribution will go to help rent the van and/or produce the -way
cool- antiwar Libertarian Party postcards we will be handing out. A
*rough draft* (final draft will be posted Monday night) of the cards
can be seen here:

Some miscellany: We need to decide whether we want to 'hook up' with
other (mostly Democrat) folks from NC; I actually think that's a good
idea (they're going to invite David Price and it'll be interesting to
see if he shows). But we can also do our own thing. In either case,
we'll have a largish "Libertarian Party" banner, which should
confuse/amuse/bemuse them :) I think Phil is going to bring his
Guilford Courthouse flag, too; apparently flags, signs, etc *are*
being allowed and encouraged.

If you want to come in your own car, let me know so we can get you in
our 'caravan' and maybe find someone to share gas/driving/company with
you.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I NEED YOU TO REPLY ASAP. THANKS!

I can be reached by email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or by phone at 919-906-2106.
