Drudging the Bottom of the Barrel
Posted by Mike Tennant at February 7, 2007 09:05 AM

Drudge is a veritable gold mine today.

At the top of the page are a slew of links about "global warming," including
reprisals against skeptics and the establishment of "environmental crimes" by
the European Court of Justice (sic).

Then there's a Republican legislator in Texas who wants to make missing a
parent-teacher conference a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $500.

Meanwhile, in the perhaps very well-named Empire State, a state senator "plans
to introduce legislation that would ban people from using an MP3 player, cell
phone, Blackberry or any other electronic device while crossing the street in
either New York City or Buffalo."

Finally, Senator McCain wants to turn ISP's into spies for the federal
government to report "illegal images" (such as Abu Ghraib photos, perhaps?) and
make it a crime not to cooperate.

'Tis a sad day for liberty indeed.
