Dear readers,

It's a "web-only Friday" here at RRND, for several reasons that I'll go into
below. First, though, don't miss the day's news and commentary at:

http://www.rationalreview.com/news

So, why a "web-only" day? Three reasons:

1) I'm headed out of town for a weekend in Chicago on somewhat short notice,
and want to get an early start. Part business, part pleasure. I can't promise
I'll be able to check my email while I'm there, but I'll try ... so if you're
in Chicagoland and would like to get together for a beer or something, drop me
a line at publisher at rationalreview.com.

2) I wanted to give ISIL's upcoming 26th World Conference another pump. You do
NOT want to miss this event. Great speakers, great times, and great setting:
Historic Williamsburg, Virginia. Go ahead and black out your calendar NOW for
August 11th-15th, and maybe a few more days for the after-conference tour ...
then get registered and start bragging to your friends about your vacation
plans. For more info, point your browser at:

http://www.isil.org/conference

3) Over the last few weeks, you've seen some reviews and mentions of Brian
Doherty's new book, _Radicals for Capitalism: A Freewheeling History of the
Modern American Libertarian Movement_ in RRND. I'm in the middle of it right
now, and heartily recommend it (no, Brian isn't paying me to say so -- I can
only claim a nodding acquaintance with him, but in my experience he's both an
astute observer of the libertarian movement and a real mensch).

Today's lead commentary in RRND is a Radar Online interview with Doherty, whom
most of you also know as an editor/commentator at Reason. Don't miss it. Jeff
Riggenbach recently reviewed _Radicals for Capitalism_ for us at:

http://www.rationalreview.com/content/25199

I haven't written my own review yet, because I haven't finished the book (which
I thank Mr. Riggenbach for sending me, btw). I can already tell you that it's
exciting, engaging and informative, though, and I just wanted to get a plug in
for it.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in liberty,
Tom Knapp
