August 1992. On a remote ridge in northern Idaho, federal agents
surround white separatist Randy Weaver and his family in their
rural, mountain top cabin. After attempting to arrest Weaver for
failing to appear in court on a gun charge, the FBI launches a
military-like siege of the cabin and institutes a shoot-on-sight
policy. After an 11-day standoff 3 people are dead, including U.S.
Marshal William Degan, Weaver's wife Vicki, their 14-year old son
Sammy and his dog Stryker. The incident led to an intensive review
of the FBI.
